Mission

The mission was to focus on designing a student-centric yoga booklet and pique the students' interest and spread awareness about yoga and its benefits.

Problem in existing Design

  • There is no official MIT WPU yoga booklet at present.

  • The booklets which are being distributed are not student centric

  • It's not creative and visually pleasing and hence students don’t find it interesting and don’t attend the yoga sessions.

  • Most of the students thought given information is lengthy and time consuming.

Yoga is often partially understood as being limited to asanas or poses, and its benefits are only perceived to be at the physical level. However, we fail to realize the immense benefits yoga offers in uniting the body, mind, and breath. When you are in harmony, the journey through life is calmer, happier and more fulfilling. So, if you are keen to lose weight, develop a strong and flexible body or being at peace, then yoga can help you achieve it all.
The booklet displays set of asanas specially selected that focuses on the benefits of students and are easy to perform regularly. The Asanas heed to health related problems faced by most of the students such as such as Back pain, Respiratory, Cervical, Menstrual, sleep and concentration problems.

Research and Analysis

We did contextual enquiry with a group of student during yoga sessions to get better understanding of the issues faced by the students of MIT WPU.We did 1-1 interaction with students ask them certain questions. The booklet displays set of asanas specially selected that focuses on the benefits of students and are easy to perform regularly. The Asanas heed to health related problems faced by most of the students such as such as Back pain, Respiratory, Cervical, Menstrual, sleep and concentration problems.

What we gathered....

People experience nervousness when Yoga is done in groups.

Students just are not interested in Yoga considering the slow-paced nature of the activity.

Considering the mass disinterest in Yoga, students don’t find it worth their time to read a Yoga Booklet that is no different from the vocal description of it.

Yoga does not display visually satisfactory results as compared to more regulated work-out methods.
